Making a Monster - Dissertation Work

For my dissertation I was using research from video games, movies, TV and responses from peers, family and friends about what was deemed 'scary' when it came to creatures. Using the research I then went through the process of creating and refining the creatures.

After concepts 4 and 6 were deemed the 'creepiest', i did a series of facial sketches to get a feel for what It should look like. I had several ideas I liked however concepts 2, 5 and 6 were the (least) favourites.

I did a more detailed concept of the creatures face however it was deemed too clean, and the full body sketch of the creature with clothes was deemed too human. And it should be more gangly.

After slimming it down and adding the much needed gore to the creatures mouth I did an action pose just to give a sense of the creatures movement.

The action pose was apparently, too fat.

So I slimmed it down aswell! Using the feedback provided, this was the final design deemed 'creepy'.
